Lynoral is an estrogen and progesterone combination pill, used for birth control. It prevents ovulation, mucus thickening in the cervix, and changing the lining of the uterus. You must take Lynoral exactly as your doctor directs.
In case a dose is missed, Lynoral should be used as soon as you remember. If the time of the next dose is near, you should take the missed dose and get back to the usual schedule of dosage; this may mean that two tablets have to be taken in one day. If you miss two doses in a row or more, an alternate birth control method (e.g., spermicides, condoms) should be used for at least one week. You will also need to consult your doctor or the product information for a new dosage schedule.
Lynoral should be stored at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Keep it away from moisture and light.
Lynoral Safety information
Chance of having heart problems may be increased if you smoke cigarettes while using this drug. Please refrain from smoking while using Ethinyl Estradiol. There are two main factors which increase the risk of heart problems: age (in women greater than 35 years of age) and frequent smoking (15 cigarettes per day or greater).
Lynoral Side effects
The following effects may occur: nausea, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding between menstrual periods (spotting), weight gain, stomach cramps, acne, rash, swelling or bloating, skin spots, breast tenderness, or difficulty to wear contact lenses. In case any of these effects persist or worsen, your doctor must be notified promptly. Let your doctor know at once if any of these serious side effects occur: flu-like symptoms (e.g., fever, cough, unusual weakness/fatigue, sore throat, muscle aches), dizziness, trouble sleeping, mental/mood changes, hair loss, or vaginal infections. Your doctor should be notified promptly if any of these unlikely but serious side effects take place: severe headache, pain in the lower legs or groin, chest pain, vision changes, severe stomach pain, yellowing eyes or skin, one-sided weakness, lumps in the breast. If there are any other effects which are not listed above, you should contact pharmacist or doctor.
