Arava (Leflunomide) is a pyrimidine synthesis inhibitor to treat rheumatoid arthritis. It also helps joints.
Arava is taken regularly with or without food for at least 4 weeks.
If you miss a dose of Arava , take it as soon as you remember. However if it is to late and it is almost time to your next dose, skip it. Do not double the dose unless you doctor tells you to do so.
Store Arava at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted.
Do not store at the bathroom. Store away from heat and direct sunlight.
Arava Safety information
Tell your doctor if you have an allergy to any components of Arava, kidney disease, liver disease or any other allergies before you use Arava. We do not recommend to take Arava if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Do not take alcohol while treatment with Arava.
Vaccinations may be dangerous while treatment with Arava.
If you experience a severe allergic reaction (a skin rash, small blisters over a large portion of the body, or lesions around the eyes, mouth or throat) contact you doctor immediately.
We do not recommend taking Arava if you are under 18 years old.
Do not take Arava if you are pregnant, or planning to become pregnant.
If you took a course of Arava treatment, you should flush the remaining components of this medicine from your body, because the can lead to injury or death of fetal. Do not breast feed while or after taking Arava if it was not flushed out of your body, because it can pass to breast milk and make harm to baby. Keep out of reach of children.
Arava Side effects
If you experienced any signs of these reactions back pain; bronchitis; diarrhea; dizziness; dry skin; hair loss; headache; increased cough; indigestion; joint disorder; loss of appetite; muscle aches; nausea; runny nose; sinus infection; upper respiratory tract infection; urinary tract infection; vomiting; weakness; weight loss, tell your doctor immediately.
Call emergency if you took Arava and experienced a severe allergic reaction such as rush or hives.
Do not use Arava if it was not prescribed to you.
