Aldactone (Spironolactone) is a medicine used for treatment of high blood pressure or congestive heart failure.
It is a potassium-sparing diuretic. This medicine promotes the output of urine.
This medicine must be taken directly as it was prescribed by your doctor. Don’t double a dose if you have missed one. If you feel any kind of heart disorder while taking Aldactone, call your doctor for further instructions.
This medicine may increase the quantity of urine – this is normal. Also you may have problems with sleep. To avoid this, do not take this medicine after 6 p.m.
Store Aldactone at room temperature in a closed container. Do not store it on light. Avoid storing it on heat.
Aldactone Safety information
If you feel one of the symptoms such as muscle weakness or slow heartbeat, call your doctor immediately and call emergency.
While taking this medicine, take care about the level of potassium in your body, ask your doctor to control it, because Aldactone can rise potassium levels and this may lead to fatal consequences. Do not take Aldactone if you are also taking potassium.
After your first intake of this medicine, if you don’t know your reaction on it, don’t do potentially dangerous tasks, such as driving. Do not combine Aldactone with alcohol. The possibility of simultaneous intake of Aldactone and other medicine must be discussed with your doctor.
Tell your doctor, if you are allergic to any of his medicine’s components or you are pregnant or breast feeding. There is no evidence of passing of Aldactone to breast milk, as well as its action on an unborn child.
Aldactone Side effects
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Don’t use this medicine after its term of usage. Don’t take double dose don’t start or stop taking this medicine unless your doctor told you to do so.
Call your doctor as soon as possible if you experience such dangerous symptoms as:
- dry mouth,
- excessive thirst,
- skin rash,
- unusual tiredness,
- irregular or no menstrual periods,
- unusual muscle weakness,
- deepening of voice,
- slowed heart rate.
