Have you ever thought that swimming could help to improve the life of children with asthma symptoms? Recently made research has shown that swimming aids asthma symptoms in children.
During the study, the children of 7-12 years were divided into two groups. The first group was engaged in a six-week swimming program in addition to their regular asthma treatments. The other one continued to treat asthma with their common methods, without going info sport.
Thus, the experimental program showed significant improvement in, asthma symptoms and severity, mouth-breathing, snoring, chest deformity, self-confidence and general feelings of disadvantage, hospitalizations, emergency room visits and school absenteeism at all.
The author of the study, said, that swimming, like any other sports, is unlikely to provoke asthma attacks. Swimming promotes normal physical and psychological development, increases lung volume, develops good breathing techniques and improves general fitness in order to ease asthma processes.
