Pfizer and FivePrime Union against Oncology and Diabetes
Five Prime Therapeutics and Pfizer Inc. announced the start of a global cooperation for research and license agreement against diabetes and oncology problems.
The main aim of the collaboration is to discover the antibody targets as well as therapeutic protein products that will be used in future for treatment of cancer and diabetes.
During the study, FivePrime will for probably existing potential therapeutic protein products and antibody targets and will receive a randomized three years investment from Pfizer.
Because of this investment Pfizer will have exclusive global rights to develop and commercialize certain products discovered during the study.
A major feature of this cooperation is FivePrime's effective protein discovery system. They have special protein screening library, which contains almost all human secreted proteins together with their receptors. Many of them even can’t be found public collections. The idea of in vivo technology is widely used for rapid validation of hits and significantly lessens time for Investigation of New Drug.
