Aureon launches a new prostate cancer test called Prostate Px+. To develop this test, Aureon studied data of 1,027 men. The research for the development of this test was held in Mayo Clinic, Uppsala University, University of Connecticut and Duke University Medical Center.
It was statistically proved with significant trust level that the test produced by Aureon has predictive model that is twice more effective than best existing method. The test have shown that it identified twice as many high-risk events in low and intermediate risk patients than the best available method.
Vice president of pathology and medical director of Aureon Laboratories Ricardo Mesa-Tejada, told to journalists: "Prostate Px+ test is the first prognostic mean to give this really important information and make doctor do more reliable diagnostics.”
New test combines several methods of diagnostics, such as molecular biomarkers, histological and clinical information with advanced mathematics. Such integrated approach gives best results. Soon this test will be available for sale and will play key role in prostate cancer treatment.
