Doxazosin is an inhibitor of alpha 1 adrenergic nervous system that is used for blood pressure lowering and for treatment of noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland).
Take Cardura as prescribed to you. The doctor should choose doses, specifically on your health conditions. Some tips about Doxazosin:
Take Cardura with or without food;
Do not take Cardura within two hours of taking an antacid
Doxazosin should be taken at the same time every day.
If you miss a dose of Cardura, take it as soon as possible. Do not take 2 doses at once, if it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Cardura Safety Information
Do not take Doxazosin if:
- you have had an allergic reaction any component in
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Cardura, or to any similar medicine
- you are not male.
If you are taking Doxazosin regularly before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. Doxazosin may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or lightheadedness. Do not drive if you took Doxazosin for the first time and don’t know how you react to it.
Do not take while pregnancy and breastfeeding. Keep this medicine out of the reach of children
Cardura Side Effects
The most common side effects that may occur while taking Doxazosin are the following:
- blurred vision,
- nasal congestion,
- pounding heartbeat,
- puffiness in hands or feet,
- lack of energy,
- dry mouth,
- bloody urine.
Contact your doctor immediately if you experienced such side effects as difficulty breathing or tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face or lips; or if you if you suspect allergic reaction because of Cardura.
If using Doxazosin for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
