Tazorac Cream (Tazarotene) is a retinoid that improves the appearance and texture of skin. Tazorac Cream decreases skin inflammation and skin changes associated with psoriasis. The specific way Tazarotene works is not completely understood.
Use Tazarotene as it is directed by your doctor.
- Tazorac Cream is only for external use.
- You should apply Tazarotene used a thin film to cover only the lesion.
- If you are taking a bath or shower before applying Tazorac Cream, be sure that the skin is dry before applying Tazarotene.
- Do not allow Tazorac Cream to come into contact with unaffected skin.
- After using Tazorac Cream wash your hands immediately, unless you have psoriasis on your hands.
Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Tazarotene.
Do not pass any dozes. If you pass doze of Tazorac Cream, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and come back to your regular schedule of batching. Do not use 2 dozes at once.
Tazorac Cream should be stored with care! Keep away from children and pets. Store it away from a heat, wetness, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Store Tazorac Cream at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in a tightly closed container. Brief periods at temperatures of 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) are permitted.
Tazorac Cream should be used only by the patient for whom it was advised by a doctor. Do not share it with other people. Check with your doctor, if your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse.
Tazorac Safety information
Do not use Tazorac Cream if you are pregnant or you have allergic reaction to any ingredient in Tazorac Cream.
Contact your doctor if any of these apply to you.
Read carefully:
- Tazorac Cream can cause a poisoning if of it swallow. If you, by mistake, probably, have taken it a mouth, contact your centre of the control of poison or an extreme room at once.
- Avoid getting Tazorac Cream in your eyes, to a nose, a mouth, a vagina, or on a healthy skin. At getting Tazorac Cream in your eyes, carefully to wash out a lot of water.
- Use Tazorac Cream as it is directed by your doctor according to a label on medicine for exact instructions of a dozen. Do not take more than the recommended dose or use for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.
- Avoid using other topical medication, cosmetics, or other products that having strong effect of drying. If you have a dry skin from using these products, allow your skin to have a rest before using Tazorac Cream.
- Before you use any other medicines, washing-up liquids, a sun-protection cream or cosmetics on your skin, talk to your doctor.
- If you have eczema, or for any condition other than that for which it was prescribed do not use Tazorac Cream on skin.
- Do not use Tazorac Cream on the sunburned skin until it has fully healed, if you have sunburn.
- Do not apply Tazorac Cream until the first cream or lotion has been absorbed into your skin (at least 1 hour) if you are using a cream or lotion to soften or moisten your skin.
- Weather extremes, such as windy or cold weather, may irritate your skin more while you are using Tazorac Cream.
- Do not cover the treated area with dressings or bandages.
- Tazorac Cream can cause you to become sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to Tazorac Cream. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside.
- Safety and efficiency for children are not confirmed therefore Tazorac Cream should to be used with extreme caution for children.
- Women should have the negative test of pregnancy for 2 weeks prior to the beginning of use Tazorac Cream, it is necessary to use effective methods of restriction of birth (eg, condoms, contraceptive pills, diaphragms), using Tazorac Cream. If during use Tazorac Cream you become pregnant, contact your health care provider at once.
- Do not use Tazorac Cream if you are pregnant. Avoid becoming pregnant while you are taking it. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor right away. It is not known if Tazorac Cream is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Tazorac Cream.
Tazorac Side Effects
Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur:
- peeling; burning; dry skin; irritation; itching; redness; skin pain; scaling; skin inflammation; stinging.
If such a serious side effect of Tazorac as hard allergic reaction occurs, it is necessary to search for medical attention right away. The symptoms of allergic reaction are rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; severe or prolonged itching, burning, redness, or peeling; swelling of the skin, hands, or feet.
