About Retin-A

Retin-A influences the superficial (epidermis) and deep (dermis) parts of the skin. The major effect is made by decreasing the sunlight impact causing aging with the help of increasing the speed of replacing the cells on the surface.

Using Retin A, just apply a thin layer to the area that is required the treatment once a day at the bedtime. You should use a gauze pad or cotton swab to apply the liquid and then wash your hands at once. Do not forget that you will not improve the results by applying more frequently or in excessive amounts but it can cause the side effects. Retin-A (Tretinoin) can irritate the sensitive skin so do not apply on the area close to the eyes, mouth or open cuts. When the medication is used for the first time acne can appear; in this case you should keep on using the medicine. It can take up to six weeks before you notice the first results. Use mild soap to wash your face. Do not wash face excessively. Abrasive soaps, cleansers, medicated creams or lotions can increase the effect of skin irritation. Turn to the doctor or pharmacist before their using. While using Retin-A (Tretinoin) be careful to use other acne preparations.

Tretinoin is derived from vitamin A. Topical Tretinoin is applied to cure the mild or moderate acne and on the skin damaged by the long exposure to the sun. Tretinoin irritates the skin/ It results in cells growing (dividing) and dying more rapidly that increases the turnover of the cells. At the same time it reduces the number of cells layers. In case with acne, new cells replace the calls with pimples the rapid turnover of cells prevents new pimples from appearing. The same way Tretinoin can reduce some wrinkles, areas of darkened skin, and rough areas of skin which are always resulted from the damage made by the sunlight. In case of sun-damaged skin improvements in the skin can be usually noticed after three or four weeks of treatment. Brown spots begin fading within six to eight weeks. Wrinkles disappear or decrease after three to six months. Following the rules of application a minor amount of drug is absorbed by the body.

If you miss to take a dose, do it as soon as you discover it. If the nearest time of taking an over-due dose is close to the next taking, skip the one to return to the regular scheme. Do not take two doses at once to catch up with the course.
