Here are main rules of using this medication:
- Mycelex-G vaginal must be used exactly according to your doctor’s instructions, or the package directions. Ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain the directions to you in case you do not understand them.
- The suppository, tablet, or cream should be inserted into the vagina using the applicator according to directions.
- Before and after using this medication, you should wash hands well.
- In case the infection does not go away after one course of therapy, or if it worsens, you should consult your doctor. You might have another type of infection.
- This medication should be used continuously for the prescribed amount of time, even during your menstrual period.
- A sanitary napkin can be used in order to prevent the medication from staining your clothes. Tampon is not recommended for this purpose.
- Make sure the medication doesn’t get into your eyes, mouth, or nose.
If, for some reason, you miss Mycelex-G vaginal dose, don’t take the missed dose. Return to your normal dosing schedule. Avoid taking 2 doses simultaneously.
Mycelex-G vaginal needs to be stored at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Brief storage between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F) is permitted. Make sure to keep it away from heat, light, and moisture. The medicine shouldn’t be stored in the bathroom. Keep Mycelex-G vaginal out of the children’s reach. Keep it away from pets too.
Mycelex-G Safety information
Clotrimazole vaginal vaginal cannot be used if:
- you have allergies to any ingredient in Mycelex-G vaginal;
- this is the first time you have ever had symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection. You should consult your doctor before starting to use this medication;
- you have any of the following: a fever, abdominal pain, diabetes, foul-smelling discharge, HIV, or AIDS. You have to consult your doctor;
- without initial consultation of to your doctor if you are nursing a baby;
- your age is less than 12 years old;
- only patient who has a prescription for Mycelex-G vaginal should use this medicine. The drug shouldn’t be shared with other people.
Mycelex-G Side effects
You should talk to your doctor if any of these most common side effects remain or become bothersome:
- mild vaginal itching, burning, or irritation.
Seek medical attention immediately if any of these side effects happen to appear:
- severe allergic reactions (hives: rash; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); fever or chills; foul-smelling vaginal discharge; nausea; severe or prolonged vaginal burning, itching, or irritation; stomach pain; vomiting; swelling.
