Geodon is a drug which has oral and injectable form, it is recommended to treat mental affections like schizophrenia. The particular features of Geodon effective impacts are not well known, but commonly with other anti-psychotics it works as inhibitor of brain and nerves communication. It implements this by means of isolating nerve receptors from special neurotransmitters, which nerves exploit for communication with each other. Presumably, Geodon reaches its medical effect because of serotonin and dopamine receptors blocking. In addition, similar to some anti-depressant drugs, Geodon restrains serotonin and norepinephrine re-uptake by the brain nerves. Geodon is applied to little or no weight gain, a distinction that differentiates that from other anti-psychotic medications. Moreover, Geodon has such unique attribute among other anti-psychotic drugs that it does not increase the levels of cholesterol.
